47 Year Old, Fit 5 '8, 119 Lbs and Looking to Be More Fabulous - Austin, TX
I had my breast lift/augmentation surgery yesterday morning at approximately 6:30 a.m. and I am doing so much better than I would have imagined. I got the 397 cc's, silicone, smooth round implants placed under the muscle. I feel like these were the right size for me. They look very good and I cannot wait to go shopping. My husband is very pleased with the size as well, which makes me very happy. Yesterday I had no pain, but today I had some pain, mainly in my left breast, and nipple areas. It wasn't horrible, more like cramping/burning sensation. My schedule for pain medicines is 1-2 Tramadol every four to six hours, but I have mostly been taking 1 every 4-5 hours. I went for my first post-op appointment and Dr. Maggi said everything is healing very well, there was hardly any blood on my bandages. Trish, his nurse, wrapped me up in clean gauze and the sport bra; I won't get my band until I go to have the sutures removed on Tuesday. Also, we found out very quickly that I have almost full sensation in my left breast and some mild sensation in my right breast. Yay! Everyone keeps saying how great I look and how impressed they are with how much I am getting around, doing my hair and make-up and acting as though nothing has happened. Believe me when I say, I do know something has happened. Also, I remember reading over several posts that mention feeling as though their breasts were not a part of their body, but in my case I feel like they have been there all along, even with the pain. I do not over do it though, and I rest when I feel my body needs it. I have been eating a light diet and drinking lots of water. I really want to get the rest of the anesthesia out of my body because it has caused some itching, burping, and inflammation. This morning the first thing I noticed was increased swelling, which I know is normal. My breasts are very high and swollen. Also my stomach and rib cage area. I have started putting Arnica gel on the rib cage and stomach area and it has improved. I am not allowed to put any ointments or cream on the incisions. I had left and right lollipop incisions and they are healing very well. I am very pleased at the work Dr. Maggi did for me...he is a true artist, just as I felt the day I first met him. My husband, Jeff, says that he can tell how much pride Dr. Maggi puts into his work. It is more than pride though, I feel/felt cared for, like someone he knew. All of the staff have also gone above and beyond my expectations. I am very pleased with my results. I would recommend Dr. Maggi to a friend or family member. There is no better plastic surgeon in this area in my opinion.

The day I met Dr. Maggi he was nice and explained anything I had a question on. The day of surgery he was focused and precise about what was going to happen in surgery.
